We went for a hike in Devil's Lake State Park (the snow was a short-lived phenomenon, and didn't stick for long). Sylvie came along and was a champ, riding along on my back. We talked about our work, about kids, about relationships, about people we know, and about how we'd like to live in a commune, or a co-housing unit, so we get to be close to each other forever.
On Friday night, we went to a fish fry at Toby's Supper Club, and enjoyed some surprisingly frou frou drinks, including a key lime pie martini that was delish. The scene was very Wisconsin and the fish was tasty!
On Saturday night, we went to a dark little cozy bar and then on to Essenhaus, a big German polka and beerhaus. Note the steins hanging from the wall behind Jay, as he drinks from the glass boot.

Emily spent time as a waitress at Essenhaus at age 19!!!
