Our friend
Debbie just forwarded us the most recent newsletter from the Methow Valley Sport Trails Association because it featured a photo of Kyle! See below next to the note about the Pursuit. As he not-so-patiently awaits snow here in Madison, it was a little painful to be reminded that the Methow currently has 16 inches and all trails are open.
Not that we're not happy for those of you who have gotten out to enjoy Snoqualmie Pass and the Winthrop trails. We are psyched that you are out enjoying it; we just wish we could be there with you. In fact, we wish we could be there with you for pretty much everything you're doing these days. Sniff, sniff. We miss you guys.

| WE ARE OPEN ! The Methow Valley ski trails opened on Thanksgiving Day with 16 inches of snow! The trails are in incredible shape for both skating and classic skiing. Don't wait until the middle of winter to enjoy what might be the best ski season in our 34 year history! Current ski conditions can be found on our daily grooming report available on-line, via our free Smartphone app and by phone. Grab your trail pass and go!

 | Storyski is Back! Storyski was so popular last year that we have added yet another book to the trails. Polar Polka, Polar Opposites and Totem Tale are three magically illustrated books by local Author Erik Brooks. 18 large story-panels line a 1 kilometer ski loop encouraging young skiers to keep skiing ahead to read the next story panel. Check our website for Storyski locations. Remember too that children 12 and under ski FREE!
Storyski was made possible by a Methow Fund grant from the Community Foundation of Northcentral Washington.

| Holiday Loppet Ski Tour The first ski event of the seaon is December 28th with the Holiday Loppet Ski Tour. Join us as we celebrate the holidays with a non-competitive ski tour on the Mazama ski trails. Choose from a 11k or 20k ski loop and then join your friends for hot drinks and treats afterwards.
Then join us New Year's Eve for our annual Ski Rodeo 5k and 10k ski event.

 | Register Now for the Pursuit! Registration for the Methow Valley's signature ski race is now open. Pursuit racers ski a classic race the first day at a new venue for 2012 and then compete in a 30k skate race from Mazama to Winthrop the second day. Citizen racers can compete in either the one day classic or skate event. Pursuit details and registration information can be found on our website along with all our other exciting winter events for 2012.

I hear you. I mostly refrain from reading snow reports from back home because then I just want to be there, with everyone I love, enjoying the beautiful PNW.
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel better, I haven't skied yet despite the snow! We miss you too!
