This week

Kyle was gone again for a stretch at the AMSSM conference in New Orleans this past week, so I flew solo once again. My self-confidence and self-sufficiency were better this time around, but I still missed him when he was gone. The hours of 7-9pm in particular are just not as much fun when it's just me all by myself puttering around the house.

Sam's second tooth popped through this week. Bottom left. Some crankiness accompanied the new development, but nothing too serious. He also started out on the baby swing at Platt Park, and managed it like a champ. I think the forward swing must feel strange to him, because he has a reflexive eye-closing reaction during that arc.

I just want to eat him up. He's gotten very grabby lately, and really loves plastic bags and anything that will make a sound when banged against the table or the floor. My glasses are always smudged because he drags his Aquafor-ed hands all over them and all over my face and hair when he's nursing.

Is Sibling Day a real thing? Facebook is awash in sibling photos today, and I've never heard of the holiday. If I had one of Carl and I, I'd include it here. But I imagine if Sibling Day is still a thing 30 years from now, this would be a good photo for Sylvie and Sam to show off.

Sometimes I think we should get a photographer to do some family pictures of the whole crew. These selfies don't really do us justice. Though I really like the progression here. Smile, cry, smile. You can even see Sylvie yelling at Sam after he grabbed and pulled her hair.

Charlotte Kaiser, if you're out there looking at this, Linus' sweet onesie is getting another go around the block. I just love it on a boy.

And finally, more on this later, but WE BOUGHT A HOUSE AND WE'RE MOVING AT THE END OF THE MONTH! On the days that I'm home, I'm packing boxes during naps and after bedtime, and the piles of boxes are growing. We're very excited about the move, though it is somewhat bittersweet, as we've grown to love our neighborhood and neighbors here.
