Ostuni is the home of the lovely Masseria il Frantoio, owned by Armando and his wife for the last fifteen years and by another family for the five hundred years prior to that. It's right near the beach and Brindisi. This is our fanciest lodging during our trip south and it's *nice*. The grounds are gorgeous. Our room is in the former stables, and there is lots of green space full of flowers to explore.
There are thousand-year old olive trees on the grounds that we play around and on.

Also, Roman gardens that are reportedly much cooler during the dog days of summer than the rest of the grounds.
We celebrated Finley's third birthday at breakfast!

Sylvie picked a bouquet of flowers that she probably shouldn't have picked, but it was beautiful and thoughtful.
After Finley and Sylvie went to bed at Frantoio, Sarah and I went on a tour of the home/grounds and then had a four-course meal in the main house. The food was not as spectacular as I wanted it to be, but the setting was delightful.
