Eph Love

Such a sublime return to Williamstown, 20 years later.

We slept in the dorms on the freshman quad, and the party took place in a tent on the quad. There was face painting, photo booth action, catching up, a magician, a kids concert, and gold and yellow macrame. Lucia and Louisa, and the rest of the kids were so sweet with Sam. He got batman as his first face painting. We put the kids to bed and our monitors still worked from the dance floor!

Sylvie opted for the blue cat and could not have been happier with the results. She stayed up until 10pm and then had a sleepover in the dorm room next to ours with Maddie. They giggled together for a long time before finally quieting down.

We did a parade through campus, and even though it was sprinkling, everyone showed up and walked purple and proud.

Kyle snuck out of our tiny dorm room in the early morning to do a hike with old friends. The beautiful purple valley.

Sen. Chris Murphy was a classmate of Kyle's, and he was there for the weekend too. The following week he filibustered in on the floor of Congress for action on gun control, and we felt honored to have been with him the weekend before. The reunion weekend organized a discussion about climate change in the media that included Elizabeth Kolbert, Frances Beinecke, Chris Murphy, and two others, pictured below, from the cheap seats. Happily, a couple of my good friends from grad school, Bailey and Allie, graduated from Williams five years before Kyle, so I got to see them too.

Good times.
