We've made it out for three camping trips this summer: Kiddie Kampout in Meredith (outside Basalt), a Tenth Mountain Division Hut near Leadville, and camping with neighbors in Salida.
All good times, especially after a few days/weeks have passed, and I've been able to sufficiently edit my memories to tamp down the challenges of hard work and sub-standard sleep that accompanies these trips. Even though it's a heavy lift, I've really enjoyed getting to explore Colorado a little more this summer and sleeping outside just brings us all joy. The kids love the outings, and we all come home smelling like a campfire.
