Sam is going on ten months now, and he's turning into a funny little man.

- His hair is growing into a little fauxhawk, that I can never capture on film because it's so light and wispy.
- His way of showing his excitement about things (generally seeing a family member enter a room or going outside) is to quickly, enthusiastically rotate his hands and his feet. It's hilarious.
- We thought he had only one tooth coming in when we were on vacation, but he actually has a whole mouthful of teeth pushing through. And, instead of having his front two teeth follow his bottom two teeth, his upper teeth to the sides of the front two seem to be his next pair. He also has two more new ones coming in on the bottom. There has been some crankiness.
- Like Sylvie, he chose his special sleep time friend at around four months old. LB is his favorite, and when he goes to bed for nap or bedtime, he mashes the little bear into his face and smiles.
- He still isn't mobile, which is frustrating for him. He gets himself onto his belly, facing the object of his desire, and then he can only push himself backwards, very slowly, away from the thing that he wants.
- He loves Sylvie so much, and seems to be happiest when she is making loud happy noises and running in and out of a room.

- She is our little hall monitor. A rule follower. Maybe this is just a three-year old milestone, or maybe it's just her, I don't know. But she is always yelling at Sam if he picks up anything that he might possibly choke on. If he picks up a plastic fork to play with, she gets up from her chair and gets him a plastic spoon to play with instead, so that he does not poke himself. She likes things a certain way, and if they do not conform with her idea of how they should be, she can really get bent out of shape.
- Sometimes she still uses "f" for "s" words, even though she can say "s". For instance, "Fileyface" = smileyface. "I fell sumpin" = I smell something.
- She uses the word "cattywompus" frequently, and it makes me laugh quietly to hear her say that. Today, she also wondered why clotrimazole is not just called "foot bump lotion".
- Dida and Wawa are her omnipresent imaginary friends. They used to live in Wisconsin, and have moved to Golden as well. They have anywhere from 2-10 babies and also several dogs. We go over to their house to borrow a hose sometimes, and they often come over for dinner. Other friends include Jacob (20 years old, with a 10 year old son, her only male imaginary friend), Otter, Run, and Walk.
- A favorite game is Baby Mama Dog Walk, where we act like we are taking our babies and our dogs for walks and cleaning up lots of poop with plastic bags that we bring along on the walk.
- She has a strong preference for wearing long pants and long sleeves, even now when it is routinely 90 degrees during the day. She doesn't like for people to see her knees and I think she is worried about getting a sunburn, even though she has never had a sunburn.
