We did a local turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning with our friends Scott and Artemis and their kids.
We hosted Thanksgiving dinner at our house with Scott and Artemis, Virginia and Nick, and Jocelyn and Tony. Great food, great friends. Lots of fun. No documentation of the gathering, but I cooked the turkey, again using the New York Times' dry brine recipe and it turned out tasty. Everyone brought delicious food and wine, too.
On the day after Thanksgiving, we explored Golden Gate State Park, which is a nice, big park not far from our house. There is trout pond there that would be fun in the summer, and there are many campsites and cabins that I'd love to check out when it's warmer. We did a short hike, and spent some time playing the dirt. The weather was great, and although it was windy, it was about 65 degrees out, and perfect for outdoor time.
And here, documentation of our series of terrible selfies on the trail. None of these will end up in a holiday card or on the wall, so I preserve them here for all 6 of you readers, so you can see Sam tiring of the process and sliding off my lap.
