The big girl overcame her initial skepticism and doubt in order to undergo her first face painting this weekend! The opportunity arose due to a clown who came to her friend Antigone's birthday party. In addition to face painting, there was balloon animal making and ukulele playing.
She was very uncertain about the process and held Daddy's hand as the painting took place.
Very serious during the process.
Finally happy afterwards, she was transformed into Ice Cream, her canine alter-ego that she often embodies wandering around our house. It was perfect. [Side note: Her role-playing as Ice Cream is very involved, where I have to go to the shelter to pick out the perfect dog for our family, and she is waiting there to be taken home. Or when she comes to our house and I have to look at her tag to see that she walked/swam all the way from Antarctica, and then call Animal Control to pick her up, after she has a snack, because she is very tired from the journey.]

Sylvie asked Artemis, Tig's mom, to take this picture with her in it. After Artemis took the picture, Sylvie said, "Will you send that to my mom?" I laughed! I guess next she'll be asking us to Facebook it.
She went home from exhausted the party with a puppy dog face, chocolate cupcakes on her face, and a blue candy cane sticking out of her mouth.
