Heather has been our nanny for the past nine months and she has become a big part of our kids lives during that time. She is a trusted member of their/our inner circle, and I have loved the light, guiltless feeling of leaving them with her when they are so happy about it, and so pleased at the prospect of spending time with her. She is creative, caring, calm, and reliable, and we've been so lucky to work with her. Yesterday was her last day as our nanny, as she fortunately/unfortunately has accepted a job of her dreams in band management that will launch her career in a new direction.
We'll miss seeing her on a daily basis, and I hope hope hope that our replacement caregiver will be half as good as she has been. Finding good childcare and keeping it is one of the biggest stressors of parenthood.

Her husband Jeff is also adored by the kids. He works at the pizza shop downtown, and they often go there to watch them throw pies. He's a sweet and gentle guy.

Heather managed volunteers for Ullr Grass, a winter bluegrass festival in Golden. Ullr is the Nordic God of snow and winter, and the viking hat was passed around a lot during the event. Below we have Fish Baby modeling the hat, and also Piper, Heather and Jeff's dog, sporting it. Piper is also, of course, beloved.
