This weekend started with a 5th birthday party for our good friend, Isla. The party was in the neighborhood park.
Marc and Erin set up a good gathering, with supplies to make bike license plates and bike handlebar streamers.
Mr. Samwise really liked using the license plate crafts to create signs that he could wear on his shirt, telling people how to behave.
Sylvie approved of these signs.

But her patience with Sam wears thin very quickly.
On Saturday, we did Golden Easter things, including the egg hunt in Parfet Park downtown.
This is a photo of the egg hunt grounds for the 0-3 year old set. 3 year olds can dominate here, given how little the babies can do. Sam felt like a king on these grounds. Sylvie was in the 4-6 year old area, and it was more a fast-moving competition at that age.
Sam was psyched for the hunt to begin!
Sylvie was a chick. She wasn't crazy about this face painting design, didn't think it was as cute as it had been in the photo, so it was wiped off as soon as we got home. She looked jaundiced for the rest of the day.
On Sunday, we went to the Denver Zoo. It was a good morning to go because it was pretty empty and mellow. We hit the carousel and the train! And we saw the amazing gorillas! And Dobby, the baby giraffe!
