Finally, we went to the Rose Bowl. This was, after all, the reason we were in LA in the first place. It was the showdown of the cute, innocuous mascots: Badgers v. Ducks.
Upon arrival, Kerry and I meandered among the thousands of fans (91,245 according to the loudspeaker during the game) tailgating in the golf course and parking lots that surround the stadium. It was HOT (82 degrees at game time), and cold beer tasted good.
A stealth bomber did a fly-by during the national anthem, and I couldn't even believe it was a real plane. It seemed like a batplane to me.
The game was awesome! Lots of great passes and runs by Oregon and bursting through large scrums of people by Wisconsin. Oregon's outfits were all Nike-designed, and their helmets looked like they were made out of chrome. The end was the only real bummer, as 2 seconds seemed to pass in a flash and Wisconsin didn't get to finish the game with a play. Oregon 45, Wisconsin 38.
We flew home to Madison and BG the next day. Despite the ending, the trip was wonderful, and left us feeling rejuvenated. By the end, we were ready to get back to our little girl and our routine.

Thanks for posting the LA adventure--enjoyed reading about your trip! I owe you an email too :)Happy new year!
