Winter has finally arrived, there is snow on the ground and it feels like things are as they should be! As a result, Sylvie has had several snow days, complete with trudging through thigh-deep snow (for her), snowman building and snow sliding. She loves it! I have started burying her legs in the snow and she loves brushing it off. Great fun!
In addition to loving her outside time, Sylvie is really starting to learn words. She doesn't say them yet, aside from "hi", but she understands lots of things. Namely: tongue (she'll stick it out if you ask her to), gorilla (she'll pound her chest with one hand), belly (she'll shake hers if you ask her to), hug and kiss (she'll lean in for them if you ask her for one), PD (her best little fleece friend), ears (she can point them out) and dog (she loves them in real life and in pictures). Also, you can ask her to do all kinds of things like putting something away or going to get something, and she'll do them! It's amazing to feel like we're starting to understand a common language.

So great! The common language is amazing. This weekend Linus said his longest, most complete sentence ever: "Can I please take off my sweatshirt mama?" I about fell over. (Meanwhile the snow is only sorta fun when a certain small gentleman REFUSES to wear gloves. EVER. Or a hat. Ugh.)
